Agree with you. The good smart phone must combine with good internet connection too
good internet connection is not brand specific but rather more on choosing a good service provider. over-the-top smartphone is somewhat useless without a realible strong connection including internet, bluetooth, 3g/4g, etc.

your both actually correct, yes you need a good network provider, but you also need a phone with a good 3g/lte/wifi radio – may of th etop end devices have this down.. some like ZTE still struggle a little as they are far more custom to the Chnese networks than the slower paced and more clogged american networks but both the network and the device play a part in the connectivity process.

A smartphone without internet connection is like a cake without its cream:)
Too bad, that taxes for internet connection are quite expensive, at least in my country people are crazy to find wifi spots, rather than using the benefits of their contracts or prepaid services

Ha. I do the same. I live in Nicaragua right now and internet here is a joke. I would go from hotel to hotel “stealing” wifi. Got so tired of it. Finally plopped down $25 for an internet stick. Unfortunately it wont work with a smartphone. Still really fast though.

Here in the US we have internet cafes with free access in every large city and probably all the smaller ones too. McDonalds Restaurants offer free wifi, as does Barnes & Noble bookstores, and even our public libraries – you just need to get a password from a clerk and they are happy to provide it!

This works in some places here in Nicaragua. For example, SJDS and Granada are both big tourist places, almost every hotel, restaurant or bar has wifi and if you are a customer they will give you the password. In Managua, the capital places like the malls have free wifi as well. There are a ton of internet cafes in these areas as well. THey are not free, but economical choices for people that just need to “check in”. All of these options are fine if you are in a populated area. If you go to more remote areas expect more problems. I know the small town I lived in no one had wifi…not even the $65 a night hotel. There was one internet cafe and it was slow and always full of school kids. If you are going to be somewhere like that, or you like to work from home and your landlord does not provide wifi then the internet stick is a valid option. Be careful with Macs, the settings will most likely need to be changed for it to work.

Internet on smartphone gives a true definition to it!! Most of the features coming up with or smartphone are actually internet dependent. Be it net surfing , playing games , messenger and many more things..Whenever the word smartphone comes , Internet is a must!!!
In my country, there is a strong bond between smartphones and internet. Usually, when you apply for a subscription or you buy a prepaid service, you will be granted free 500MB or even 1GB, depending on the cost you chose

In India too, the concept is catching up but the pace is slow. This is because of the fact that you can anyways get a 1 GB prepaid connection by the service provider of your choice in a mere 2$ per month. With this kind of rates it does makes no sense to really opt for any bundles and enter into contracts. Ex: Idea has an internet package of 3GB unlimited for postpaid users in a mere 12$ per month. Airtel has 1 GB package in hardly 2.5$ a month.

With these rates, it`s wiser to avoid this type of service
Even in my country, it started as a shy offer, but in less than 12 month everybody wanted the new service, so prices had the opportunity to get down

Here in Nicaragua I notice a lot of people have smart phones, but many do not have email. So they use it for music, pictures and of course Facebook. I don’t know many people that “surf” the web or other things like that. Trust me they are not looking up CNN….just posting pictures and sharing music with each other….its more like a portable radio than a portable computer. Maybe in time that will change.

In every corner of the world, the revolution started in a shy way. Even in Romania, ten years ago, somebody handling a Nokia with MMS was the symbol of luxury. Now, students can buy a decent smartphone with their savings and I guess they are the most avid consumers of internet, for sharing on social networks, watching movies, recording hot stuff and so on
