As long as your bank implemented a two-step login or some other advanced pattern, it`s secure. A serious bank won`t allow a transaction from a desktop app or mobile app, without sending a code via SMS to the owner, to have his/her agreement for that issue
I use the bank`s app on smartphone to check the sales of the company, to pay bills, to send wages and so on. It`s faster than to go to bank, to do all these transactions
