It looks like Apple had an even better holiday sale this year than in previous years according to Flurry. 51.5% of smart phone activation were Apple products and their new Phablet form factor seems to be taking quite a hold in the market. Tablet sales were down by 17% this holiday season, possibly as a result of consumers purchasing phablet form factor phones which bridge the gap between a standard smart phone screen size and that of the larger tablets. I have to say that this is good and bad. It’s great if you’re an investor in Apple because the company continues to maintain and expand their market share, but it may not be great if you’re an Android user unless the competition can hold onto their market share.
If things sway too much to Apple, there will be less investments available in releasing Android platform devices I imagine, competition is sort of a balancing act where, ideally companies need to be swaying back and forth to maintain balance, and if you go too far, things aren’t ideal for the consumer.

Europe is even more divided between iOS and Android, Check the report of market share at the beginning of 2015
Generally, Android rules the market, as seen in the case of Germany, UK and France, yet iOS has registered a major success with the bigger generation of iPhone, so it`s llike to see a substancial change of perspective
What I could notice is that Europeans prefer a large range of brands including Samsung, HTC, Sony, Huawei, Nokia or LG

Android tablets has a wide range of prices to suit the customers budget. But iPad has a higher price tag for their tablet. It look less atttractive to price sensitive market.

Probably, customers seem to forget about the price, if they are willing to buy something designed by Apple. In addition, iPad has the benefit of Retina display, which is still unmatched even by the most advanced Android-based tablets
On the other hand, with $300 you can buy a reliable Android tablet with enough storage capacity, while a bigger iPad will definitely make you break your piggy bank for another $100

You can buy tablet like the Xiaomi, Samsung. Acer, ZTE and many others for half the price of an Apple iPad.
There are both Apple and Android lovers out there in the market to serve the needs of different customers.
