It seems Android has taken the first time buyer market share from Apple. It isn’t too surprising as most Apple devices tend to have pretty inflated costs. However the article mentions that Apple has higher customer retention rates which is expected. Android is cheaper and provides the same functionalists, however Apple devices are more uniform in specifications and software tends to be more compatible. Apple is more expense, but less fuss which a lot of people come to love, either at first or later.

Android is a mutiple identity, each manufacturer using it attempted to impose itself on the market, mostly with affordable models, so Android`s popularity is constantly fuelled by those marketing strategies
On the other hand, Apple focuses on the image of a refined product, which impressively sells, since having an iPhone is a social standard
