Purchased a Blackberry Curve 8310 Off Ebay recently. Had to purchase a new charger seperately for it. When I plug the charger in it has a small green light which comes on.
What concerns me, however, is the charger makes a whiring sound when I plug it into the mains .
Is this usual ? I have only ever owned cheap old fashioned moble phones before, and there was no sound from their chargers when plugged in. Am I in danger of an explosion if I leave this charger on making that whiring sound ?

More likely that charger will produce a small flame someday or cause something nasty to your battery, I would recommend you to avoid it
Try to purchase a charger compatible with your model, from a serious store (I saw some offers on Walmart to start with), you will receive warranty and less worries about this type of flaws
