LG have confirmed that they will be releasing kitkat versions of the L40, L70 and L90 – the L range makes up the low end spectrum (or middle) of the LG smart phone brand. LG confirmed we will get to ee these devices at MWC coming up soon but you cant help think that perhaps this is just LG sticking new software on older hardware to burn off the excess stock

The entire goal of this is running off end stock but at the same time, like you said a good quality phone, which it is despite it being last years specs to introduce smart phones to a lesser market i.e india, china

of course, kitkat uses a small imprint on devices, meaning lower end devices run a ton faster by simply using an update to android.

I’ll just agree to disagree this is nothing to do with numbers in the sales sense its a case of we have old stock, we dont want to destroy it – lets put lighter software on it and sell it slightly above cost.. fire sale its what many companies do to rid themselves of yesterdays tech today

but still there would be considerations on revenue generated out of this plan – profilt or even just return of investment.

yes, investment nothing to do with profit markets, more prevention of loses in the event the units don’t move/sell at all they would be required to destroy them as a write off which means physically taking them apart and removing all aspects that can be used in other products line.. as HP proved with the touchpad – better to fire sale than keep scrap
