I prefer and almost entirely recommend a pay as you go / prepaid option. Contracts typically benefit the company far more than they do the consumer, and they prevent you from moving onto another carrier when you find a better deal. Of course, some people like the price locking of contracts and the fact that they can get a smart phone sometimes a bit cheaper.

I also support the idea of prepaid services, while travelling, although I have a corporate postpaid contract, that I could use in roaming, but rates are better when you use a local prepaid SIM card
The fact with the postpaid services is that they aren`t that restrictive as before, I mean if you found a better deal, you can leave your current provider, but with paying a fee, which is about $100, if you purchased a phone. If not, you are free to go in less than 30 labor days, as it`s the maximum period in which a provider has to end a subscription as requested by its customer
