From what I understand, Republic Wireless is a cell company in North Carolina that offers inexpensive internet based calling for Cell phones. Their cheapest plan seems to be $5 but only allows calls over ‘wifi’ and at $25 a month they offer 3G service with unlimited calling. It seems to be an interesting concept but not sure how far this would go, they seem to have coverage limited to North Carolina. Reviews on the service seem to be mixed, anyone here use them before?

21$/month with unlimited calling is really great cell phone plan. But can we make a call with this plan without opening 3G ?

I can tell you from my experience in Europe that usually unlimited calling is associated with 3G, 4G

If a provider doesn`t boost its 3G service, it`s not worthy to support such a plan, at least this is what I understand from telecommunication`s marketing
