According to the StarTribune, a company called US Internet is going to deploy a 10 gigabit fiber optic service throughout the city of Minneapolis. The fee for the service is going to be $400 a month, while steep, this is aimed at businesses I believe for the most part and this would be a really great deal for them. It looks like the company already provides a 1 gigabit connection to home users for $65 a month which is amazing. In the end more internet infrastructure is always good in my opinion, it forces competitors to actually compete and keep prices low.
