I’m wondering how many people purchase items – in this case smart phones or tablets – based on advertising they’ve seen – TV commercials, magazine ads, radio ads, billboards, etc.

What about such an ad prompted you to purchase the product, and did you do any additional research to see if you actually were buying the best product?

I remember a commercial during the Christmas season  where the Kindle Fire was bragging that it weighs less than the iPad – which is certainly true. But the reason why it weighted less is because the Fire – and its screen! – is smaller than the iPad, so the commercial wasn’t comparing apples and apples, but rather apples and oranges. Not exactly fair.

I`m quite skeptical about commercials, I simply prefer to test the gadget into a store and see with my own eyes what`s able to do. Naturally, a wise advertisement would lead me to that smartphone or tablet, but it`s not the ultimate criterion

From my point of view, iPad is insanely expensive, even the mini version is expensive in my country (about 300EURO with a 2-year contract) I would choose a Kindle Fire, although it`s not that big and glamorous as iPad

I’m about preference, screen size, and I do read reviews.

Only one thing : Its popularity. For example : Apple always more attractive and have the most sales on the world. So if I chose Apple phone, tablet, I will easily to re-sell it after a long time without losing too much. And it’s attracting girls too :))

I have to admit there is a certain relation between girls and Apple, although some Android smartphones and tablets look betterLaugh, but Apple is Apple

Anyhow, it`s good you sell it, to get back at least half of your investment
