Safari has a feature to request the browser version of a website on your iPhone or other iOS devices. This is helpful especially when you are required to fill out a form on a website that doesn’t work well with the mobile version.

To request a desktop version of a site in Safari, open safari and go to the website you want to browse. In this example, when you go to Amazon, by default only the mobile version of the website is loaded.
  • Tap the AA icon on the left side of the address bar.
  • Tap Request Desktop Site.
  • To revert back to the mobile version, tap the AA icon again and then tap Request Mobile Site.

You can also set it to always load the desktop site for any website. For example, go to cnbc.com in safari.
  • Tap the AA icon.
  • Tap Website Settings.
  • Tap Request Desktop Website.
  • Tap Done.

Now it is set for cnbc.com to always load the desktop version of the web site.
  • To view the list of websites with the “Request Desktop Website” turned on, go to Settings.
  • Scroll down and select Safari.
  • Tap “Request Desktop Website”.
  • Here you can see the list of websites with “Request Desktop Website” turned on.
