As Twitter App name is changed to “X”. To reset your password, you’ll need access to the phone number or email associated with your Twitter account. This verification information helps ensure your account is only accessible to you. If you can’t access your phone or email, you won’t be able to recover your password, and may need to sign up for a new account.
An accurate and up-to-date email address, and/or phone number ensure you never lose access to your Twitter account.
Resetting your password will log you out of all your active Twitter sessions. Additionally, password reset via text message isn't available to accounts that are enrolled in login verification. You can only reset your password through email.
You’ll want to make sure you have cell reception or internet access, and that the Twitter number isn’t blocked. It can take a few minutes to receive a verification code. If you’re still having trouble, try the email password reset option.

If you frequently receive password reset messages that you did not request, it may be a good idea to turn on the Password reset protection in your account settings and set up two-factor authentication.
