With iOS 16, Apple introduced the ability to edit or unsend the sent message within 15 minutes after you sent a message.
- To unsend a message, long press a message and tap “Undo Send”. It will show an alert for both sender and receiver.
- To edit an already sent message, long press the message and tap “Edit”.
- Now, you can edit the already sent message and send again.
- If the receiver also has the device with iOS 16, then it will show that the message was edited but not edit history.
These features will not work if the receiving device is not on iOS 16. Instead, it will show the history of all the edited messages. Unsend also will not remove the message on the receiver’s device if it is not updated to iOS 16.
