Inside view of Grand Mosque Centre

Today we will continue our journey through the Grand Mosque. The immense chandelier in the mosque is the second biggest in the world and has a diameter of 33 feet and 49 feet high with millions of Swarovski crystals. The Grand Mosque of Abu Dhabi is large enough to contain about 40,000 people safely. It was constructed between 1996 and 2007. There are four minarets on the four corners of the courtyard, which are 351 ft in height. With its floral design, the enclosure measures about 180,000 square ft and is considered the most significant example of a marble mosaic in the world. The carpet in the hall is the world's largest carpet made by Iran's Carpet Company. This carpet measures 60,570 square feet and weighs about 35 tons. There is strict dress code to enter the Mosque. The legs arms of both men and women are to be covered. Abaya can be hired free of cost for ladies.
