A loquat fruit can have one to three seeds in it. Cut open the fruit and remove the meat from the seeds with a wash.
It is best to plant loquat seeds as soon as possible because letting them dry up may prevent germination. Store the seeds in a moist paper towel, even if you have to wait a day or two.
They can be kept for up to six months at 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 C) in a ventilated container filled with wet sawdust or moss.
