Ola is a cab booking app which was founded in 2010 by Bhavish Aggarwal. The app is available for both Android and IOS app. You just have to open the app add your pick and drop location and you are ready for booking your ride.
The Interface of the app is very easy to use and you get used to it very easily. Ola ranks 1st on app store for travel app because it’s cheaper than its counterpart Uber. Ola offers service in 100+ cities including Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, & Ahmedabad, and the most popular cab booking service in India
App Features and Capabilities
Use Ola app for booking cabs, there are different types of rides you can book like below.
Micro: Micro is an options which includes rides in small cars mostly compact Hatchback cars like Hyundai Eon, Datsun Go, Maruti Alto, etc. This rides are mostly used for small rides and it is also pocket friendly as the fares are low. You get all 4 seat a/c cars.
Mini: Mini is an options which includes midrange Hatchback cars like Maruti Ritz, Nissan Micra, Tata Indica and many more. This rides are pocket friendly and you get cars with 4 seat all a/c. The difference between Mini and Micro is that the comfort level on mini is more comfortable.
Prime: Prime is an option which includes sedan cars like Nissan Sunny, Toyota Etios, Maruti Swift Dzire and others. Prime is also a feature in ola app that includes prime play which includes music, movies, news and others. Prime is very useful for business class and someone who need more leg room, wifi and boot room.
Taxi: This option includes old city taxi which was used previously before this type of travel app. The option includes A/c and Non A/c Taxi which has fixed meters and has all the other options which are included in Mini and Macro. This is also known as Kaali peeli.
Share: In this option you get can book a ride while splitting bills with other passengers, for example anyone who has stops in your way will be clubbed with you so that the route doesn’t get changed and it is more cost efficient. You can nearly save upto 35% of your rides while sharing your cabs with others.
Rental: Now Ola has an option to rent a car for a day so that you can travel wherever you want to travel in the city and this options uses hourly packages which starts with Rs. 245. You get cars from Prime Play, Prime Sedan, Prime Mini, Prime SUV and many more.
Outstation: this is for the ones who wants to travel outside the town at a very reasonable rate. You have an option to make it a one way trip or a round trip. You can also do an advance booking which will be good for hassle free rides.
Lux: Now with Ola you can book some of the expensive cars to get to your locations. The cars that are available in Lux option is VW Jetta, Mercedes-benz, BMW 3 series, Audi, Honda Accord, etc.
Auto: now for the short distance ride you can book an Auto rickshaw which is cheaper than the rest of the options. It is also very convenient if you are riding alone.
Pros - The app is very easy to use.

Cons - Sometimes you have to wait for almost 20 min till the cab arrives at your pickup location.
- You don’t have an option to select your choice ride.
Other Information to Know You can upgrade to prime play while riding only if you have selected a prime ride. Also if you are a cab driver the company take 15% of every ride you complete.
