Pinus patula, also called the patula pine, spreading-leaved pine, or Mexican weeping pine, or pino patula or pino llorón in Spanish, is a tree that is indigenous to the Mexican highlands.

It grows between 24° and 18° North latitude, at an altitude of 1,800-2,700 m (5,900-8,900 ft). The tree can reach a height of 30 m (98 ft). It can endure brief dips below 0 °C (32 °F), but not prolonged exposure to temperatures below 10 °C (14 °F).

It is slightly more drought tolerant than Pinus taeda in this area. In its natural environment, there is 750 to 2000 millimeters of yearly rainfall.
