There are a wide variety of ISP's in Costa Rica, some are good and some aren’t'. Herein, I will disclose the details.
The following ISP services are available in Costa Rica. The following services provide the all-inclusive 3 in one package: Cable TV, VoiceIP and Internet service bundled into a single package. The following order does not reflect on who's better than the other.
1. Tigo: Provides all three services bundled into one. Pricing range varies from $50.00 to up to $75.00 for basic services. Basic Internet services are provided at about 1MB / 256Kbps.
2. Cabletica: Provides all three services bundled into one. Pricing range varies from $30.00 to up to $98.00 for basic services. Basic Internet services are provided at about 1MB / 512Kbps.
3. Cablevision: Provides all three services bundled into one. Pricing range varies from $20.00 to up to $45.00 for basic services. Basic Internet services are provided at about 1MB / 256Kbps.
4. TeleCable: Provides all three services bundled into one. Pricing range varies from $35.00 to up to $55.00 for basic services. Basic Internet services are provided at about 1MB / 256Kbps.
You may select to opt to higher internet downstream speeds but you will pay a higher amount as Internet access is expensive in CR.
If I were to judge, having experienced all services, the best in the country is TeleCable, with a superb customer service and top notch quality deliverance on Cable TV, Internet and VoiceIP telephony.
Customer service is sort of an issue for some ISPs in the country and sometimes complaining really doesn't help at all.
You cannot get temporary internet services as you must sign a yearly contract with each provider.
If you only want Cable or Satellite TV you cannot get them unbundled, you have to get them both.
