I would say it's more intuitive off the bat, yes. The quality control on the apps is a little higher as well. The largest difference however in my opinion is that you can get 'under the hood' with the Android hardware far more than you can the Apple. This is both good and bad.

Good, because some people like to take advantage of hardware and customization.

Bad, because less experienced users will not know the customization options, it's quirks, and can mess up their device easily.

I tend to say that less tech savvy individuals should be using IPads.

If you wish to start using a tablet, try firstly an Android one, which is cheaper and if you aren`t satisified go to iPad

In most of the cases, you don`t need to spend so much money for iPad, when a reliable Nexus does the same thing (watching videos, checking emails and chatting)
