It depends on which device you have. Not all Android devices can be rooted, some are locked quite well from the manufacturer or distributor (service provider) and as a result are very difficult to root. The best thing that you can do would be to put whichever phone model you have in Google search with a term like 'root' 'how to root' 'rooting.'
