Open Excel and select File > Open and then select XML Files (*.xml) in the file type dropdown.
Select the backup file from the list. Press Open.
Press OK.
Press OK.
The 4th column will have the date as stored in the file and is not easily readable. The readable date gets added further to the right of the list in the 2nd last column called “readable_date”. The format of this date can be changed when creating the backup by changing the “Readable Date Format” setting.
If the backup file does not contain the “readable_date” then it can be calculated…
To view the date in a human understandable format, enter the following value in a new column and then copy it to all the rows: =([@date]/86400000)+25569
Format the new column as a date/time.
Done.
If you edit the file in Excel, it may not allow you to Export it back to xml and display this error message
To be able to export again:
Open the Developer Tab in the Ribbon Bar.
    Click on the Source button.
Remove the Count Element from the Map.
Now Excel should let you Export.
