I have an Apple watch but I cannot afford an iphone now. Can I get it to work with my android phone?

It cannot. Apple watches are built from the iPhone app store and it relies on other apps that are built in the iPhone. They use core iOS APIs on the iPhone meaning that the only way it can be compatible to an android phone is if it runs an iOS API.
