Hi mate. You can obviously turn mobile data off or switch to Wi-Fi, and you can also apply several bandwidth saving settings such as preventing apps from updating when on mobile data (they will update only when you are connected via Wi-Fi). And yes you can cap internet usage; at least on my phone you can. Check the settings.
