WhatsApp disappearing messages are a privacy feature that automates chat deletion. Any user can set their messages to disappear in intervals of 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days. Participants are notified of the change once the feature is turned on in a conversation. Disappearing messages cannot be recovered on WhatsApp. WhatsApp allows users to customize the notification for each contact and group.

Just like how you turn off auto-download on iPhones, you can turn off media auto-download on Android too via Settings. Here's how to disable auto save media whatsapp Android.

  • Open WhatsApp on your Android phone.
  • Tap the 3 dots on the top-right corner, select Settings and then open Storage and data.
  • Under "Media auto-download" section, tap on each option and uncheck all the media types from the pop-up menu.
  • Tap OK to save the change.
If you wonder if there is a quick way to stop WhatsApp from saving photos on Android, the good news is there is. Go to Settings then click on Chats and turn off the toggle for Media Visibility. Now, the downloaded media won't be shown in the gallery.

For the moments when you make a mistake, or simply change your mind, you can now edit your WhatsApp sent messages. Edited messages will display ‘edited’ alongside them, so those you’re messaging are aware of the correction without showing edit history. As with all personal messages, media and calls, your messages and the edits you make are protected by end-to-end encryption.

Create and share a WhatsApp call link so that anyone with a WhatsApp account can join your call by opening the link. You can send it to a person or group on WhatsApp, or copy the link and share it another way. Every time you create a call link, the URL is different and secure, so no one can guess your call links. Call link calls are end-to-end encrypted.

People who've been removed will see You have been removed from the call by (name or phone). When a removed or blocked contact tries to rejoin the call, they’ll see Unable to connect and won’t be able to join the call.
