The Cape honeysuckle, or Tecoma capensis, is a species of flowering plant in the Bignoniaceae family that is indigenous to southern Africa. It is not closely related to the actual honeysuckle, despite its common name.

It expands to a similar width and a height of 2-3 m. In chilly areas, it may shed its leaves while being typically evergreen buy it may scramble in some habitats which means it sends out long growth tips that cling to other plants' stems and branches as well as boulders, trellises, fences, and walls. This can make the plant look untidy.

The leaves can reach a length of 15 cm. They have five to nine rectangular leaflets that are opposite, somewhat serrated, green to dark green, and pinnate.

Approximately 7.5 cm long, tubular, and produced at various periods throughout the year, the flowers are narrow and tubular. They are arranged in terminal clusters that are 10–15 cm long. The flower might be orange, orange-red, or apricot in color.
