I hate receiving spam text messages. I have 2 phones, one with a Philippines sim and the other is a UK sim. I regularly receive spam texts in my Philippines number and it’s usually about scams (i.e. that I won something and such). Does it occur in your countries as well?

I get spam messages as well in the US. It’s typically random calls from countries like Mexico and India. It’s usually some crazy scam that I have no idea who would fall for. I’ve never gotten a text by mistake from someone though which is strange. 

Unfortunately, even though my cell is on a do not call list, I still get spam texts.

there is a crime party in my country Bangladesh where a group phoned any one randomly & say to recharge some money for winning a great amount of money. 

I got this types of call twice.

Spam occurs in almost every countries. They have a way to get your mobile number as you participate in lucky draw or given your contact as you register for services. They can resold your contact to third parties.

Similarly in Europe too, only that the pretext used in related to a car accident that one member of the family had and that he/she desperately needs money for lawyer and so on

Although it`s obvious there is something fishy, some people believe the story, especially old persons, scared that their relatives are in big trouble
