I took a look at this a few weeks ago, wasn’t very impressed.

Apparently it’s used mainly by women who do a lot of shopping for clothing… and I’m not in to that!

Basically you “pin” your “interests” to a board – it’s all graphic based.

I think it’s a fad that will fade away, but I”m curious what other people think.

I use it for DIY ideas, present ideas and recipes. I don’t really understand the whole shopping using Pinterest idea, but maybe that’s because I’m European and cannot order at those websites anyway. Pinterest has its good sides and bad (useless maybe?) sides, but if you are looking for recipes, Pinterest is heaven.

I have never heard this before but I can see what you mean. It does seem like a fad of sorts.

I initially think that Pinterest could be something different but it seems like it ended up like Twitter. Twitter – words, Pinterest – Pictures.

Personnally, I find Pinterest more useful for my freelancer activity than Facebook

When I have free time, I write on a technology blog and pin my articles. I was repinned and commented by both women and men, so I don`t think it`s mostly dedicated to women and shopping, it depends on the niche you are into

I also think it’s only for women, at least that’s how it became, I rarely see any technology pins. It’s more of a stay at home moms who have lots of free time and crafting ideas, it’s not even for young women, those go to Tumblr. I think Facebook remains the only place that have all niches.

From a certain point, you are right, there is a lot of nonsense on Pinterest, but I take advantage of its rich-visual potential. Pinterest is even more popular than Google+, aggressibely promoted and providing all good stuff from Google, probably the name Google scares people to try a new promoting experience on that social network
