I’d really like to be able to start creating apps to try to sell…is there any book or even website that teaches people how to do this?

You might be better off partnering with someone who already knows how.  You come up with the ideas, and they do the building.  Then you can split the profits.

you can start creating applications. You just need to have an idea what you are going to create and  most of all on which platform you want to. You can learn mobility and try creating applications.

Hi 

If you are looking to create android apps and do not have knowledge of coding whatsoever, then you should try mit edu app builder. It is absolutely free of cost and you can make apps without any knowledge of coding. However it doesnt stop here. You can not only create apps with ease but also can learn to create apps by studying their tutorials. 

Regarding iOS, i am still searching to this day if i can actually get around without needing to learn some coding.

There are certain online tutorials which help to a great extend,not only online we can also take help of text books ,pdf file ,now a days in market also we see several authors publishing there book on full development information. App creation just needs some innovative ideas and programming mind…!!!

For creating a apps like android apps, You must have to know android programming language & basic knowledge for designing apps.
There is some tutorials in youtube you can find easily or website where teach that language weekly.
