So Sony has released the Xperia Z1 Compact which is basically or literally as is the case a Sony Xperia Z1 squished down to a smaller form factor

it comes with 2300 mHz battery which for a phone of it’s size is really impressive although like all other Sony devices you cannot remove/replace the battery.

The display for the curious of just how compact it is, is a tiny (by todays standards) 4.3 inch display running at 720p keeping in mind the display size a device this small as proven by the Moto X does not need a 1080p display. It also happens to be waterproof like the Z and other Z1’s before it with a single flap to close to seal it up.

Aside from that it’s running Sony’s own UI running on Android 4.3 but will likely see a release for 4.4 in the near future as Sony has commited to push releases out for the Z so the Z1 should of course see that update too if not first.

It still rocks the awesome Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor so this tiny 4.3 inch phone is a real monster and given Sony build quality it looks great.

in many respects it is literally the Sony Xperia Z1 just as it’s name suggests compacted – it may be a hit for Sony as the only other folks making flagship devices this small is .. Apple and given Sony has made it clear that Asia is it’s targeted marketing area .. I can’t wait to get my hands on one!
