2015: Viettel will get 100% of 900 MHz in Peru
Quoted from the speech of Mr Raul Perez Reyes, Deputy Minister of Information and Telecommunication of Peru, from now to the middle of 2015, the total of 900 MHz band will be taken back and hand-overed to Viettel Peru. In 2013, Viettel is estimated to own 50% of this band to carry out its business.
According to the representative of Viettel Peru, at present, more than 57.000 organizations and individuals are using 900 MHz band including companies and systems utilizing GPS.
On May 5, 2011, Viettel signed the using contract on 1.900 MHz. On August 14, 2012, Viettel won the “golden” 900 MHz in its auction. On September 25, 2012, Viettel Peru did successfully the first international call. On August 5, 2013, Bitel brand was officially authorized and start its operation after 1 year of network infrastructure construction and deployment nationwide.

Viettel to donate pre-school worth VND5 billion
Viettel Group has approved a donation of VND5 billion (nearly US$240.000) for the construction of Lien Chau pre-school in Vinh Phuc province.
Co-ordinating with Lien Chau commune, Yen Lac district, the opening ceremony was organized on November 4, 2013 with participation of Mr Mr Tran Gia Long, Director of Information and Telecommunication Department, Mr Nguyen Son, Director of Health Department and many leaders of provincial and district officials.
Total investment of this project is VND7.26 billion, of which VND5 billion are Viettel group’s contribution. Viettel will implement the categories: managing room, art-education room, computer room and supporting works to ensure the school constructing standards in level 2. The building will be estimated to complete within 6 months.
With the philosophy “Business associated with social responsibilities” and the opinion “Investing in education is long-time investment for the future of country”, for many years, Viettel has made different social activities for education field in Vinh Phuc including free Internet to 248 schools and educational departments in the province; study encouragement program launched by provincial study encouragement society.
