Netbooks are most commonly replaced by tablet devices, however netbooks still have their place as most tablets don't offer as many of the built in ports such as full size USB, SD card, HDMI, etc. Tablets are becoming a standard device among most of the consumer population in the USA at least and I expect netbooks to slowly start to be phased out in preference of tablets. Laptops (not netbooks) will still likely hold a market share until tablets reach a point that a person's needs are fully satisfied by the use of tablet technology.
