 Internshala was founded in 2010 by Sarvesh Agrawal an IIT Madras alumnus. This app helps students to get internship and is online training platform for students. The app is available for Android devices only. The Interface of the app is very easy to use and you get used to it very easily. 

The app is totally controlled with Internet. Colour scheme of the app is totally white and blue. The app brings together students and employer. Students can apply jobs via website or app. The app is only available in India. 

CamScanner is an image scanning app which is used to scan any document to make it digital. This app has different features which is very useful such as OCR, image to excel converter, and many more.

The app is available for both android and IOS devices. Interface of the app is very easy to use and understand. Colour scheme of the app is totally Green and white. Some of the app features requires internet connectivity. The app uses cloud functionality to store your data. This app also supports wireless printing. You can now upload all your docs to Evernote, GoogleDrive, Box, Dropbox, OneDrive.

For most people today, their phones are an extension of their bodies. These phones have all the data a person could need from private chats to pictures, their favorite songs, lectures, and podcasts, from eBooks to important documents. However, all this data is critical and too heavy to be kept in a phone or a portable device. This leads to two basic problems; lack of phone storage and the threat of losing the data in case the mobile is lost or broken. The problems were solved by none other than our best friend, Google. 

Google released an application or web-portal called Google Drive; also known as Drive, file storage and synchronization service. The bottom line function of Drive is to provide cloud storage to Google account holders for storing heavy and important data files to provide an extra storage facility with the benefit of having the facility of reaching it anytime anywhere.

JioSaavn was all the rage before Spotify graced India with its presence. However, there are many loyal listeners still tuning in to the JioSaavn app. The app is a neat enough, precise and clean music streaming app, which works as a music player for your local songs too. On the home page, you will see playlists created and put forth by the app itself, varying in genres and moods.

Then there come the podcasts; you can pick any of them and just start listening to. This app also provides radio stations which are really cool, because people don’t usually listen to the radio anymore, and this is the app’s cute little way to bring it back. However, it doesn’t have the radio channels, but is dedicated either to one singer or genre or even eras – JioSaavn has thought of everything! There are other sections in the home page too, such as Top Charts, Trending now, Top JioTunes, and New releases.

Moving on to the next page is the search option, where a list of recent searches crops up, right below the boxes of trending songs on the app. If you are not sure what to listen to, then there is also an option of ‘Surprise Me’, which will play any song that will (hopefully) cater to your needs. The next section has all the options on ‘Home’ page but in a list manner. ‘New releases’, ‘Playlists’, ‘Radio’ and all the other already known options.

The next page has the option of your account, where the songs that you have in your phone and on the app is shown (in case you have the pro version; only then you can download the songs on the app). That brings us to the pro version of the app. JioSaavn is a much more fun version, as all the paid versions are. JioTunes, No Ads, Unlimited downloads, listening offline – these are some of the many benefits of the pro version. However, the cost, for now, is like 99 INR for a month; not feasible for everyone. The options at the left side, after sliding the tray out are actually the same as the other options. JioSaavn has made it sure to make everything handy and accessible quickly and easily.

Google Maps was founded by Google in 2005, now the product is not only used by general public but also big brands like Ola, Uber, Swiggy, Zomato, etc. Most of the app that has a tracking feature uses Google Maps.

The app is totally controlled with Internet. You get an option to download offline maps which you can use even if you are not connected to internet.

Galaxy Wearable app is used to connect galaxy smart watches to the phone. You have to pair your devices using Bluetooth. Before you use the app you have to select a device that you are going to use for this app.

Ola is a cab booking app which was founded in 2010 by Bhavish Aggarwal. The app is available for both Android and IOS app. You just have to open the app add your pick and drop location and you are ready for booking your ride.

The Interface of the app is very easy to use and you get used to it very easily. Ola ranks 1st on app store for travel app because it’s cheaper than its counterpart Uber.  Ola offers service in 100+ cities including Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, & Ahmedabad, and the most popular cab booking service in India 

Palette app, by PixelPerfect Apps, is a literal life saviour for all the design students and people who are in the designing field as a whole. It is a simple interface which lets you extract colours from any kind of image, whether the one from a public library or from your own album. The home page first provides you with an option of ‘take a photo’ and ‘choose from the library’ – choose or take a photo and go wild! If you are not able to download any photo from the internet, you can just copy the URL and paste it in the ‘open image URL’ box option.

Once you slide to the next tab, it shows a lot of colour-rich photos, which automatically gives you a ready-made palette, so that you don’t have to work hard to put together a nice and appealing colour palette; the app will do that for you. The next tab has favourites – photos, colours and palettes. You can save whatever photo, colours and palette you want, and all of it will show under this tab. The three dots at the top right corner contains settings, which has only one toggle – and that is of showing only major colours from the image. The other options there are ‘about us’, ‘rate’ and ‘share the app’, which are pretty self-explanatory.

All in all, everyone will agree that it is the simplest app, and actually the one which carries out whatever it promises to do. A boon for students and designers alike.

Many English dictionaries exist on the phone; however, only a few are appealing to the crowd. This English Dictionary is one of them. The name suggests it all; it is a dictionary that works offline, rather flawlessly, let me assure you that. The words are based on English Wiktionary, so it has almost all the words. The UI is as clean and easy-to-use as it is possible to make; the creator really understood people’s requirements. Three lines at the top left corner lead you to additional options, while the top right corner is the classic search button.

The left options include history, bookmarks and notes – which are rather self-explanatory, as all of them works just the way the same features would work in a browser. Notes are something I haven’t used extensively, but it is really helpful, so I have heard. Then an interesting option of ‘Random Word’ follows the others, where you click it and any random word pops up (using it every day might just extend your vocabulary). The home screen shows the ‘Word of the day’ feature, which is just random words for the day, i.e. almost the same feature. You can even backup your histories or searches, which helps a lot if you are going to change your phone and want your old data back.

The settings offer themes, and the way results will show up on your screen – including font size to line spacing – and some others. The last, but the most important, the search button, which will help you to find any word you want. As it doesn’t require the internet, you can search for the words whenever you want. Isn’t that cool?

Wattpad is a literal boon for writers as well as readers. An internet community, it publishes user-generated stories in all sorts of genres, right from general fiction to humour. Mostly, people on the app usually write fan-fictions. It is an ever-growing community, and it is actually a fact. Once you open the app, the home page shows the recommended reads as well as ‘stories you might like’. The search icon will let you search with the help of either the book’s name, the author’s name or even hashtags the author must have used. Open up any story you like and start reading. You can also drop messages, share stories to each other through the chat section.

The app is simple enough to navigate through and is loved by everyone, especially the beginner writers, as it gives a safe platform to unleash their creativity, globally. There are many incidents where the books written on Wattpad have been published around the world due to their huge popularity among the Wattpadders. Wattpad recently changed its tagline from ‘Stories you’ll love’ to ‘Where stories live’, and there can be no other apt description than this.
